Description
This Great White Heron is gliding effortlessly over the Orange County Wetlands in Christmas, Florida.
A large bird, this king of the wetland is an efficient hunter, and stands up well to the heat in Central Florida. With form and grace it moves quickly just feet above the alligator infested water common to this wetland.
This Heron has only a hint of the feather beard that will one day cover his chest, and provide the strong plumage that it earns as it becomes the overseer of the wetland.
