Description
In Proverbs it states: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he grows up he will not depart from it." This common truth is demonstrated here, with an adult Sand Hill Crane leading as the young crane mimics the adult perfectly.
These Sand Hill Cranes are monogamous, even after the death of a partner, and they travel in flocks that look out for each other. This is one of my favorite Florida birds.
This pair was part of a larger group that was enjoying the relative safety of a mitigation area near Lake Tohopekiliga, in Kissimmee, Florida.

Great image, Dick! How did you get so close?
Dick Hudson replied:
Good question. They were busy eating ... I was moving very slow ... and I had my 18 - 300 lens. There were two pairs. I took about 30 photos and was lucky to find just one where they were in sync.
