Description
Winner of First Place in the April 2015 "Beyond the Comfort Zone" Contest on Fine Art America. A woman, buried in an island of grass, is drifting through a foggy lake. She is comfortable in her isolation, and resting.
This is an adaption of a huge public sculpture that rests in the Northeast corner of Lake Eola in Orlando, Florida. The original art lies in a garden, and is surrounded by flowers. Kentucky sculptor Meg White built this amazing piece of work after winning a contest to find 6 sculptures for the popular downtown park. In the original people can walk up and touch her face, and rest in the cup of her hand.
I learned a lot about adapting an image to my own imagination.
