First Place Winner out of 828 entries in the Fine Art America "Multi-Person" Contest in March 2015.
First Place winner of the Fine Art America "Happiness" Contest in January 2015.
I was looking flowers at a local park in Kissimmee when I saw this threesome ride by. The grandchildren, riding look-alike scooters rode with Grandpa to the nearby playground, where Grandpa watched quietly, and guarded their trikes while they played. The respect and love that the kids had for their grandfather was clear as they proudly rode with him.
About Dick Hudson
A retired helicopter pilot and Vietnam Veteran. Live in Kissimmee, Florida.... a beautiful place, with lots of photo opportunity. I photograph what I like, and it could be something different every day. This has become something of a quest for me. I want to become a Fine Artist. Seems like something that a person would do from their youth. Art School, Apprentice, Studios, etc. I am 72, and don't have time for all that. The digital camera made it easier for me, and for everyone else. It is hard to differentiate from other artists. I can see what they do, and learn how to do it, but the real prize is to develop my own style, and exceed my own standards. Getting better at my own standard is hard enough. LOVE THIS SHOT! I'm not to that point yet but after a day with the Great Grand Kids I sometimes wish and feel like I could use one.... What a catch of a special moment.... People a lot of times don't realize that with the coming of "Senior Years" we don't live for ourselves as much as we live to enjoy those that hold a place in our hearts....
