Description
The Anhinga is fascinating bird. Some call it a turkey bird because of its plumage, and others marvel at its ability to swim and catch fish on its pointed beak. These birds love to dive into the water and search out their prey, usually a small bluegill or crappie. Often they swim to bank with their beaks high in the air, holding their catch high. Some even confuse them with snakes.
It is one of my favorite Florida birds.
The Anhinga's wings are not waterproof, so it often can be seen "spread eagled" along the shore or in a bush with it's wings out to dry. This signature pose can last for hours, and they seldom retreat from friendly photographers unless they get too aggressive.

Your composition leads me thru the image, the colors are warm and comforting-something I would like in an image I lived with everyday, you post treatment pricks my artistic curiosity, and you nailed the subject in an interesting pose and got the eyes beautifully high lighted. How's that for specific positive feedback? Keep up your artistic quest...you'll go far, Dick.

Such humbling praise from such a great artist. Thank you. I believe I worked harder on this photo processing than any other image. I am trying to find my style, and your input helps a lot.
